Sean was a 2006 graduate of Springfield College, who majored in Sports Management. Sean was the ultimate sports enthusiast, with the Boston Red Sox being his favorite team. He also enjoyed his summers with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Sean was described as “kind, funny, stubborn (in a good way), forgiving and loving.” Sean had cerebral palsy and fought hard his whole life for what he wanted.  It was said of Sean that “he was so much bigger than both his disability and the cancer that finally ended his life” at age 27.

The Sean M. Allen ’06 Endowed Scholarship honors Sean’s memory through the generosity of the Sean M. Allen Courage and Hope Challenge, Inc. This fund was established to award a deserving student entering his/her sophomore, junior or senior year who demonstrates financial need and is challenged with a physical disability that impairs mobility. Graduate students are also eligible.
